Sylvan (Jack) Ladner was born on the 4th of July, 1889 in Bayou LaCroix, MS, to Sylvan Ladner and Mary Celina Necaise. He married Ellen Elizabeth Wainwright on May 29, 1912. They had four children: Hester, Lillian, Rose Mary, and Kenneth Lavern.
