The church on Washington Street was home to the Edwardsville Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This was also called the "First Chapel in Edwardsville" in the [[Society of Sisters Waveland Ward]] booklet. It is unclear what is meant by "Edwardsville," since no town or community goes by that name in modern Mississippi. The building was disassembled and moved piece by piece to Bayou La Croix in the early 1940s.
