The church on Washington Street was home to the Edwardsville Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This was also called the "First Chapel in Edwardsville" in the [[Society of Sisters Waveland Ward]] booklet. It is unclear what is meant by "Edwardsville," since no town or community goes by that name in modern Mississippi.
