George Henry Wainwright

George Henry Wainwright was born on August 22, 1872, in Dillville, Hancock Co., MS, to David Wainwright and Millain Beeson. He married Rose Bourgeois on August 28, 1893, in Bay St. Louis, Hancock Co., MS.

George's children were Ellen Elizabeth, Laura Agnes, Lorenzo, Nora, David Hyrum, Eliza, Veda, and George Albert.

George was a pioneering member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in southern Mississippi. The story of his (and his three stepbrothers') conversion was recorded by Sue Osborn, one of George's descendants; Sue titled the story "Four Special Young Men."

George died on July 19, 1958, in Bayou LaCroix.
